A Season of Celebration
Celebration is a Christian virtue. From Genesis to Revelation, God’s people are called to rejoice, to mark milestones, and to celebrate His goodness. Celebration anchors us in gratitude and reminds us of God’s faithfulness. It’s a way of saying, “Look what the Lord has done!”
May is a month of celebration at Christian Chapel! Celebrating special days like Graduate Sunday Mother’s Day is a holy experience for all of us.
- Sunday, May 4, was Graduate Sunday. We prayed for everyone finishing grad school or college and recognized our Chapel Youth class of 2025.
- Sunday, May 11 is Mother’s Day. We will celebrate moms with a few special features before, during, and after each service.
Every cap and gown tells a story of endurance, growth, and purpose. Graduation marks the end of one season of God’s faithfulness, and the start of another journey of trusting Him. It’s appropriate to celebrate that. We’re not just cheering for academic success; we’re recognizing the work God has done in shaping each student for their next chapter of life.
Honoring mothers is also time for biblical celebration. When we pause to recognize the love, sacrifice, and nurturing strength of a mother, we reflect God’s own nature. God celebrates mothers, and so should we.
When we clap our hands on Graduate Sunday, or bring out the flowers on Mother’s Day, it’s not just sentiment, it’s worship. It’s rejoicing in what God has done in the lives of people that we know and love. Celebration helps us pause and praise, and that makes it a powerful expression of faith. Let’s not rush past those moments. Let’s honor them as sacred, because celebration, at its heart, is worship. I hope you’ll make it a point to worship and celebrate with us this May!
